SW Funk Industrial Contractors was previously asked to self-perform the structural work associated with a Boiler Upgrade and architectural finishes for a Control Room for the BMACT project at the Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill in Emporia, VA.
Within a year, another BMACT project moved into the construction phase at Georgia Pacific’s Plywood Mill in Prosperity, SC, the client asked SW Funk to perform a similar project. This involved concrete, structural steel, masonry, and architectural finishes.
This project presented many obstacles, as it was being performed in an operating mill over equipment at elevated levels. Despite these challenges, the project was completed safely and on time.
